Trainer Mick Kent believes that his galloper You Think So is more than capable of winning today’s 2013 Adelaide Cup at Morphettville Racecourse.
You Think So is coming into the 2013 Adelaide Cup off the back of a win in the Listed Torney Night Cup at Moonee Valley racecourse on February 22.
The five-year-old won the Torney Night Stakes by an incredible three lengths ahead of his nearest competitor.
You Think So has won seven of his 21 race starts and has earned more than $320,000 in prize money during his career so far.
Kent revealed that they will have no choice to go forward early with You Think So after drawing barrier 18 for the 2013 Adelaide Cup.
“We’ll have to go forward from there,” Kent said.
“He’s been in work for a little while but he stays well and is in good form, I don’t think he’s too badly handicapped with the high minimum.
“I’m hopeful, but the barrier is bit awkward.”
The trainer feels that the biggest threat will come in the form of Tuscan Fire, who is the $5.25 favourite for the race at bookmaker.com.au.
“Tuscan Fire is going well, I think he’s the one to beat still,” Kent said.
“I thought there were a lot of chances in the race – the Perth Cup winner (Talent Show), Waratone, Dame Claire has hit form.
“When I looked at the race I thought there were 12 or 14 really good chances.”
